Now that the NBL23 season has officially come to an end, it’s timely the NBL1 North competition will tip off this weekend, with three more NBL23 Hawks players hitting the court.
Brisbane Capitals secured Lachlan Dent’s services early for a second season, with the Illawarra local sure to fire on home court. The club will come up against the Northside Wizards on Saturday 25 March, tipping off at 7pm.
The Wizards will be formidable opponents boasting the signatures of Brisbane Bullets import Andrew White III, as well as Bullets teammates DJ Mitchell and Lual Diing, and Perth Wildcats Kyle Zunic. The big names should bolster the clubs standings from 2022, where they finished in 6th place.
Alex Mudronja and Akoldah Gak will combine forces for the Southern Districts Spartans as their season commences in Darwin against the Salties on Saturday 25 March, 8:30pm AEST. The Spartans finished just 13th in NBL1 22, finishing on a winning run they will look to continue on Saturday.
Former Hawks coach Matthew Flinn will lead the Salties for a second NBL1 season and are sure to be Championship contenders with the likes of American import Jerron Jamerson, United’s Makuach Maluach, and JackJumpers Sean MacDonald.
The Illawarra Hawks NBL1 season continues, tipping off Round 3 away against the Bankstown Bruins on Saturday 25 March at 5pm.
