The red and black travelled far and wide this season, and what an unforgettable journey it was.

The Illawarra Hawks proudly hosted three incredible supporter road trips throughout NBL26, bringing our most passionate members and fans together to back the boys on the road. From Auckland to Melbourne to Hobart, Hawkheads showed up stronger, louder, together.

Auckland: Hawks Take On The Breakers

The adventure kicked off in style, with our group meeting at Utopia Café for coffee and morning tea before heading to the airport in comfort.

Auckland delivered in every way — stunning harbour views, time at the Viaduct, and a ferry across to the iconic Waiheke Island wine region. At the game against the New Zealand Breakers, we joined fellow Hawks supporters (including some who now call Auckland home) to create rows and rows of red and black behind the bench.

The noise? Next level.
The experience? Unforgettable.
The verdict? We’re already planning the return trip.

Melbourne: Big Win Energy

Next stop: Melbourne to face United at John Cain Arena.

With apartments just 600 metres from the arena, our group immersed themselves in everything Melbourne does best — incredible restaurants, galleries, sport and atmosphere.

The Hawks delivered a crucial win, and the celebrations were just as strong in the stands. We even shared some classic Aussie hospitality with JT’s mum, while connecting with Hawks fans from across the country who were there to soak up the moment.

Winning on the road hits different — especially when you do it together.

Hobart: Loud & Proud in Tassie

Our final trip of the season took us to Hobart for a three-day stay to support the team against the JackJumpers.

With perfect weather and plenty to explore — harbour dinner cruises, Port Arthur tours, scenic drives — there was no shortage of adventure. But when game night arrived, our focus was clear.

The venue may be tight and compact — but our support was anything but.
We were loud. We were proud.
And the boys delivered a massive win to finish the season.

The appreciation from the playing group was genuine. The camaraderie amongst supporters was electric. And every traveller has already put their name down for next season.
