Two of the Illawarra Hawks biggest stars are in doubt for tomorrow night's massive home game with the Sydney Kings.
'Next Star' Justinian Jessup and Hawks marquee player Deng Adel will both have to pass fitness tests to take their place in tomorrow night's ANZAC Day Eve clash with the Kings at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong.
Adel failed to finish the side's last game with Melbourne United after injuring his groin, while Jessup is also dealing with a leg issue.
Coach Brian Goorjian said he was hopeful both men will be passed fit to play.
"They are two important pieces for us. They've both been involved in practice this week and we'll put them through their paces tomorrow to see if they can get up for tomorrow night's match with an in-form Sydney team," Goorjian said.
"The Kings come into our building confident and in pretty good shape after their big win over the Phoenix on Thursday night. They're all important games for us at this stage of the season but this one has some extra spice, it's Sydney, it's at home, it's the big brother against the little brother. Bring it on," Goorjian said.
Big man Cam Bairstow will miss his fifth straight game with a lower leg issue. There is currently no timetable for his return.
Doors open tomorrow night at 7pm and at 7:30pm the Illawarra Hawks 2000/01 NBL championship team will be honoured to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the club's first and only NBL title.
Tip off between the Hawks and Kings is at 8pm.
