Following the recent news William 'Davo' Hickey will be returning to the Illawarra Hawks for NBL24, Davo has also signed with the NBL1 East Illawarra Hawks for the 2023 NBL1 season.
After averaging 21 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the NBL1 South Casey Cavaliers, Hickey came into NBL23 on fire and became one of the Hawks’ brightest points during their three-win season campaign.
In the exiting press conference of NBL23, Hawks coach Jacob Jackomas explained how many of the NBL Hawks will likely stay and play with the NBL1 East Hawks.
“We do have a lot of guys who are contracted already, committed to staying in Ilawarra and working out,” Jackomas said.
“Which is a massive, massive plus for us, especially some of these younger guys who can go off and play in the NBL1, and they are going to stay Illawarra-based.”
Hickey joins Tim Coenraad and Harry Morris with the NBL1 East team.
