The NBL24 season will kick off with a Freeway Series blockbuster as your Illawarra Hawks face the Sydney Kings on Saturday, September 30.
WIN Entertainment Centre will host the season opener with the road to redemption for Jacob Jackomas's squad beginning against a familiar foe.
After several close encounters between the two sides in NBL23, the opening night match-up will be hotly contested, with early Freeway Series bragging rights on the line.
It's the second consecutive season the Hawks will host the Kings on opening night. For Hawk Nation, it will be the first chance to see recruits Mason Peatling, Lachlan Olbrich, and Next Star AJ Johnson on their home floor, and import guard Justin Robinson will reunite with Co-Captain Tyler Harvey after his season was cut short in the corresponding game last season.
The importance of a first-up win won't be lost on either team and for the Hawks, it will be a chance to launch our NBL24 campaign with some momentum, all in front of a raucous home crowd.
Tip-off for the season opener is 8 pm, Saturday, September 30.
The Hawks 2023/24 NBL season schedule will be released Thursday, April 20, on hawks.com.au.
