The Illawarra Hawks are pleased to announce the re-signing of skipper AJ Ogilvy for the 2021/22 NBL season.
Ogilvy had a wonderful first year leading the Illawarra Hawks squad, with the 33-year-old duly rewarded with the club's Player's Player award. Ogilvy averaged 5.2ppg, 5rpg, 1spg and 1.1bpg across 18 minutes per contest and was recognised by Brian Goorjian as the 'heart and soul' of the Illawarra Hawks line-up.
Ogilvy also chalked up his 200th NBL appearance last season, with Illawarra Hawks President and Co-Owner, Dorry Kordahi, saying the signature of Ogilvy added some much-needed experience and leadership to a young group.
"AJ showed last year he was the perfect leader for our young and emerging squad. He played every game last season and led by example both on and off the court. He's one of the longest serving Illawarra Hawks we've got in the group at the moment and the fans love what he brings to the club," Kordahi said.

Illawarra Hawks Head Coach, Brian Goorjian, said Ogilvy was a pivotal piece of the Hawks resurgence in 2020/21.
"I couldn't have asked for a better guy to help me lead this team in year one than AJ. He is the ultimate professional, he never complains, he always did what was best for the team and he leads by example every step of the way," Goorjian said.
"He's [Ogilvy] been around the league for a while, he knows what it takes to be successful in this thing, so I'm thrilled to have him back at the club for another season. I think he knows just as much as I do we have unfinished business here in the Gong and it'll be great to run it back with him in a Hawks uniform," Goorjian said.
Ogilvy joins Sam Froling, Emmett Naar, Akoldah Gak, Tyler Harvey, Isaac White, Dan Grida, Max Darling and Lachlan Dent on the Illawarra Hawks 2021/22 roster.
