The Illawarra Hawks can officially confirm that co-captain Tyler Harvey is locked in for the third year of his current contract, with the club exercising its option to secure his return for NBL27.
The decision ensures Harvey will once again take the court at WIN Entertainment Centre in the Black and Red, continuing his role as a cornerstone of the Hawks program.
A fan favourite and proven leader, Harvey has been one of the NBL’s most consistent and clutch performers since arriving in Illawarra in 2020. A two-time All-NBL First Team selection and NBL Champion, the 6’4” guard has built a reputation as one of the league’s elite scorers and late-game shot makers.
Across his time with the Hawks, Harvey has averaged over 17 points per game and delivered multiple game-winning performances, playing a key role in the club’s recent success, including its 2025 championship run.
His current deal, originally signed as a three-year agreement with a club option in the final season, reflects the club’s long-term commitment to one of its most important players.
Off the court, Harvey has also taken significant steps toward becoming a local player, recently securing Australian permanent residency, with citizenship still pending.
With the option now exercised, Harvey’s return provides continuity, leadership and elite scoring firepower as the Hawks build towards NBL27.
