The last week of NBL1 action in April saw some solid performances across the board, including a pair of double-doubles from William Hickey and recent recruit Lachlan Olbrich on Anzac Day.
William Hickey was once again outstanding on the court, scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks. Despite another incredible performance, it wasn't enough to get the Hawks over the line in a 79-93 loss against the Sutherland Sharks in the Freeway Series. The Hawks also recorded their first pair of back-to-back losses, going down to the North Sydney Bears 75-101 in the absence of Tim Coenraad, Harry Morris, William Hickey and Lucas Walker.
The Illawarra Hawks will look to bounce back against the Hills Hornets at the Hills Basketball Stadium on Saturday, May 6, at 7:30 pm, while the women will precede at 5:30 pm.
Lachlan Olbrich has established himself as a key part of the West Adelaide Bearcats core, suiting up in two games on both the 25th and 29th of April posting double-doubles in both of those games. Anzac Day's game saw Olbirch scored 16 points and 10 rebounds on an efficient night of shooting along with three rebounds and one block, respectively in 25mins of play.
Olbrich's best game of the week however was saved for Saturday night, scoring an incredible 31 points and 12 rebounds, complimented with 2 steals and 2 blocks in 36mins of play against the Eastern Mavericks.
Olbrich and the Bearcats will look to continue their excellent form, as they take on the Central District Lions on Saturday, May 6, with a tip-off time of 8:15 pm ACST.

Looking North, Alex Mudronja displayed one of his best scoring performances of the season, posting 34 points on a highly efficient 68% shooting. Three rebounds, one assist and three steals complimented his scoring blitz in 26mins of play. Deng Deng posted 13 points and six rebounds on a quieter shooting night.
Mudronja will look to build off his offensive scoring blitz when the Southern District Spartans take on the Townsville Heat Friday, May 5, at Townsville Stadium with a tip-off time of 8:00 pm AEDT, while Deng and the Force take on North Gold Coast on Saturday, May 6 with a tip-off time at 7:00 pm AEDT.
