It was an impressive scoring blitz from the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday night, as they won their second game of the NBL1 East season against the Penrith Panthers 106-63.
Tim Coenraad, William Hickey and Harry Morris once again capped off impressive individual efforts at both ends of the floor, scoring a combined 54 points.
Coenraad was a reliable source of scoring, notching up an impressive 21 points and 8 rebounds in 19 minutes of play.
Hickey was lead scorer for the Hawks on Saturday night. A monster in the paint, Hickey scored 20 of his 28 points through some hard yakka, while recording 5 rebounds and 8 assists in 29 minutes of play.

Morris was very strong on the defensive end, recording 10 rebounds with 5 points and 2 assists, a quieter night at the offensive end for the Hawks forward.
Other mentions include young gun Noah Pagotto who recorded an impressive double double stat with 16 points and rebounds.
Earlier in the night, the NBL1 Illawarra Hawks Women’s team finished off strong in a loss to the Penrith Panthers going down 83-74.
Some standout performances include Ella Dent who played almost the entire game, posting up a double-double of 26 points and 12 points in 39 minutes of play.
Rebecca Abel displayed a similar performance boasting 21 points and 6 rebounds in 38 minutes of play.

In a show of what’s to come for Basketball in the Illawarra, the Illawarra Hawks Waratah Youth League Men’s team coached by the NBL Hawks assistant coach Shaun Roger played their first game of the season, defeating the Penrith Panthers 107-57.
The Youth League Women’s team also displayed an impressive performance, downing the Panthers 70-46.
The Illawarra Hawks NBL1 teams will now embark on a tough three game road trip, visiting the Bankstown Bruins on Saturday 25 March, the Centre of Excellence in Canberra on Sunday 26 March, and the Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday 1 April.
