NBL Champions Illawarra Hawks Soar to FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Singapore

The Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL) today announced that reigning NBL25 Champions, the Illawarra Hawks, will proudly represent the league at the 2025 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
The global club basketball tournament is set to electrify Singapore from September 18-21, 2025 , inviting championship teams from around the world to participate.
It is the second year that the NBL Champion has participated in the event, following the Tasmania Jackjumpers inclusion in last year's tournament.
The Hawks face a formidable line-up of continental champions from around the globe. The confirmed teams so far include:
- Flamengo (Brazil) – Basketball Champions League Americas Champions
- Unicaja (Spain) – Basketball Champions League Europe Champions
- Utsunomiya Brex (Japan) – Basketball Champions League Asia Champions
- Alahli SC (Libya) – Basketball Africa League Champions
Mat Campbell, General Manager Basketball, Illawarra Hawks says “The team are excited by the prospect of playing championship winning teams from around the globe. These unique opportunities allow the Hawks to showcase our team and league on the world stage and we look forward to starting our preseason in Singapore.”
Australian basketball fans will be able to catch all the thrilling action live from Singapore. Details on broadcast partners and streaming options for viewers in Australia will be announced in the coming weeks via the NBL’s official channels and website.
