Illawarra Hawks guard Kevin White will suit up for his 300th game Saturday night, when the Hawks come up against the 36ers in Adelaide.
White is pleased to be reaching the 300 game milestone.
“It wasn’t something I thought would come round this year. Unfortunately, injury is a part of basketball, so it was the right time and right spot to come in and help the group out, to get an opportunity to play another basketball game.”
“I call Illawarra home now, I wore this same jersey for 200 (games), to wear it for 300 (games) is special. To be in front of not the home fans but to have Illawarra supporting me for that is pretty special.”
A veteran of four NBL clubs, White returns for a second stint at the Hawks and his veteran presence has already had a positive impact on the young and developing Hawks roster.
“I’m fitting in where I can and help lead some of these young guys. Sam and Tyler are young captains, just trying to help them find their feet where I can. Similar things that Rhys Martin and Oscar Forman did for me when I took on that role.”
Catch all the action as we take on the 36ers from 5:30pm AEDT Saturday 15 October on ESPN via Kayo & Foxtel.
