Robinson Returns at NBA Summer League

Illawarra Hawks guard Justin Robinson has made it through his first appearance at the NBA Summer League unscathed, in what was his first competitive game since Round 1 of NBL23.
The California Classic hosted in Sacramento on 3 & 5 July features six teams, the San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets (who hold the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in the NBA Draft), Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat. The teams will then make their way to the 10 day competition is Las Vegas.
Playing for the Charlotte Hornets, Robinson recorded eight points, three rebounds, a steal and a block in 11 minutes of action.
The Virginia-born guard suffered a season-ending knee injury on his debut for the Hawks last season, after notching 10 assists in just over three quarters of action.
Robinson’s performance in the Hornets’ loss to the Spurs saw NBL legend and Boomers assistant Matt Nielsen earn his first win as coach of the Spurs.
The Hornets will play next on 5 July (8:00am 6 July AEST) against the Golden State Warriors.
