Hawks guard Emmett Naar will miss tomorrow night's clash with the SE Melbourne Phoenix after sustaining a concussion in the side's 88-82 loss to the Brisbane Bullets on Wednesday night.
Naar left the Bullets game with just over a minute remaining in the second quarter and did not return after suffering a head knock.
His condition will be monitored over the coming days with Brian Goorjian admitting it was not ideal in the midst of a busy schedule.
"Losing anyone during this stretch makes things more difficult as we've already got Bairstow out as well. Emmett had found a good rhythm in the last couple of games and we were looking at using him a little more next to Tyler [Harvey] to take some of the heat off him, so this is a bad break," Goorjian said.
"There's no point mucking around with concussion. Any knock to the head needs to be taken seriously and we're seeing more sports around the country put a greater focus on it now. We're making sure every precaution is taken with Emmett and his health moving forward," Goorjian said.
Naar has averaged 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and two assists in a little over 14 minutes per game for the Hawks this season.
Tip off against the Phoenix will be at 7:30pm Friday 9 April at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
