The Illawarra Hawks' NBL1 contingent continued their strong play in the national competition over the weekend.

In Queensland, guard Alex Mudronja returned to the court, following a calf injury, in the Gold Coast derby at Runaway Bay Stadium.

Despite 19 points, six rebounds and four dimes from the Illawarra talent, North Gold Coast lost 99-92 to their crosstown rivals Gold Coast.

Next up for the Seahawks, who are on a four-game losing streak, are Red City on Saturday night.

The latter will head into that round 10 fixture on the back of a nail-biting one-point loss to Isaac White and his Ipswich Force.

White tallied 11 points, with seven rebounds and six assists, at the Paul Bancroft Centre, to help the visitors return to the winner's circle.

Ipswich returns to JBS Stadium on Sunday, when they host Logan in round 10.

The final Hawk to take the court in Queensland was Lachlan Dent.

The point guard added 24 points, six assists and four rebounds in Brisbane's 100-77 NBL1 North victory over Darwin at the Auchenflower Stadium.

Dent's Capitals will look to build on that win when they host Townsville on Saturday.

Moving south and Hawks skipper AJ Ogilvy lined up for the Hills Hornets against the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL1 East competition.

At the Snakepit, 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocks by Ogilvy weren't enough, as his Hornets fell 75-62 to the Hawks.

In round 11, Hills play a home double-header against Canberra and Inner West.

While in Victoria, Deng Deng lined up for Kilsyth in their round nine clash with the Melbourne Tigers.

On the back of 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block by Deng, the Cobras won 82-78 at the Kilsyth Sports Centre.

The Keilor Thunder await the Cobras next weekend.

Finally, Hawks point guard Emmett Naar produced 20 points, 13 assists, three rebounds and two steals in Ringwood's 85-75 NBL1 South defeat against Ballarat.

Next weekend, Naar's Hawks play a home double-header against Melbourne (Friday) and Waverley (Saturday).
