Hawks to Suit up for NBL1

With the NBL23 season coming to a close, the thirst for basketball will be quenched this off season thanks to the NBL1 competitions due to start next month.
Lachlan Dent will return to the Brisbane Capitals for a second season to continue his development and growth in the game.
“Getting out and playing NBL1 in the off-season was really cool, because it made me get a bit of a better feel for the game and figure out who I am and how I want to do it,” he said.
“It’s helped me just play every day with a bit more confidence. Anybody who knows me will tell you I’m an overthinker, so I’ve been trying to limit that and push my thinking into other areas that are more positive for me moving forward”.
In the 2022 NBL1 season, Dent averaged 18 points, five assists and four rebounds for the Capitals as one of the most consistent threats in NBL1 North.
The Brisbane Capitals season tips off on Saturday March 25, against the Northside Wizards.
Both Akoldah Gak and Alex Mudronja head north to suit up for the Southern District Spartans.
Gak spent last season playing in the NBA Summer League with the Chicago Bulls and will look to make his mark in the Australian League.

Mudronja will play a second season in the NBL1 North competition, having played for North Gold Coast Seahawks in 2022, averaging 19 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
The Southern District Spartans season tips off on Saturday March 25, against the Darwin Salties.
Closer to home, Harry Morris and Tim Coenraad have been named again for the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL1 East competition.
Morris had a breakout year in the inaugural NBL1 East season in 2022, earning him a development player position for the Hawks in NBL23.
Following his retirement announcement from the NBL, Coenraad isn’t quite done with Basketball just yet. Averaging 22 points, 1 assist and 8 rebounds in 2022 for NBL1, Coenraad is sure to make a big impact in NBL1 East.
The Illawarra Hawks season tips off at home on Saturday March 11, at 7pm. Don’t miss the action and head down to The Snakepit, with the women’s team preceding the match from 5pm.
