The Illawarra Hawks’ incredible season continues to be recognised, with multiple players earning nominations for the prestigious Andrew Gaze NBL MVP Awards. As we celebrate our Regular Season Championship, we’re also proud to see our Hawks making their mark among the league’s best!
A panel of experts, including Andrew Gaze, Olgun Uluc, and Derek Rucker, have selected nominees for the MVP, Next Generation Award, Best Sixth Man, Defensive Player of the Year, and Most Improved Player. Head coaches, captains, and the panel will now cast their votes to determine the winners.
The Hawks leading the charge in this year’s nominations include:

Most Improved Player

Best Sixth Man

Defensive Player of the Year – Damian Martin Trophy

With Hawks talent dominating the list, it's clear that our club continues to produce some of the league’s most elite and exciting players. The NBL will announce the three finalists for each award on Sunday, leading up to the Andrew Gaze MVP Awards Night on Monday, streamed live on Kayo and the NBL website from 7:30pm AEDT.
All coaches are nominated for the Lindsay Gaze Trophy for Coach of the Year, while all players are eligible for the All-NBL First and Second teams. Other awards to be announced on the night are the Executive of the Year, Referee of the Year presented by Europcar, Fans’ MVP presented by Chemist Warehouse, the Gametime by Kmart Award, and the Three Pointer of the Year presented by Mitsubishi.
