She needs two hours, a pair of joggers, and a court full of girls who are exactly as new to this as she is. That's it.
On Tuesday 6th October, the Illawarra Hawks and Greater Bank open the doors at Illawarra Sports Stadium in Berkeley for Girls in the Game, a two hour basketball clinic for girls aged 5 to 12.

No experience needed. That's not a soft reassurance, it's the design of the session. Girls who have never held a basketball train alongside girls who play every weekend, and our coaches run it so both walk off having done something they couldn't do at 1:30pm.

Register today, because the first ten registrations each take home a new basketball.

What She'll Actually Do
Two hours of dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork, led by experienced coaches and role models who know how to teach a five year old and a twelve year old in the same session. She'll learn the fundamentals. She'll play. She'll finish the afternoon having made a few new friends who live in her postcode.
Why We Keep Running These
Growing the game in the Illawarra isn't a line in a sponsorship deck. It's the reason a kid at Berkeley picks up a ball, joins a local club, and turns up at WIN Entertainment Centre on a Friday night already knowing what a good screen looks like. Every Hawkhead started somewhere. This is one of the places they start.
