The Illawarra Hawks are delighted to welcome Michael Frazier II to the club for the remainder of the Hungry Jacks NBL23 season.
Frazier II will join the club as an injury replacement for George King.
Frazier is no stranger to the NBL hardwood, having played for the Perth Wildcats in the 2021-22 NBL season.
Standing 193cm and 91kgs, Frazier's ability to guard multiple positions and his well-rounded offensive game will be a welcome addition to the young and developing Hawks roster.
Frazier will have a familiar face at Hawks HQ, having spent the 2020-21 G-League season with injured Hawks import Justin Robinson.
Head Coach Jacob Jackomas feels Frazier II is the perfect fit for his current Hawks roster.
"As a coaching staff, we were united in our want for the club to attract the best possible talent available, and we feel we have done that in the acquisition of Michael.”
"He is a willing defender with great size and strength, and be it at the 3-point line or getting downhill and attacking the basket, we feel like he will make an immediate impact on the group.”
"The guys showed the fight and grit that we expect of them against the Kings, and with Peyton and Michael joining the line-up in the games to come, we see a real opportunity to get back on the winners' list and do so consistently.”
Frazier will arrive in Wollongong later this week and is expected to be available for the Hawks trip south to face the South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena on Sunday afternoon.
