Round 18: Hawks vs JackJumpers

It's the last chance to see your Hawks in action as we host the JackJumpers at WIN Entertainment Centre on Saturday evening.
The call had gone out to 'Protect the Pit' for the final time in NBL23, and a full house is needed to see the season out with a win.
Despite a blistering first half, the Hawks couldn't hold off a fast-finishing Breakers side on Thursday night. A 30-point first quarter saw the home side take a 16-point lead into the half, but Coach Maor rallied the Breakers at the main break, and the second half was all the visitors.
The Hawks were led again by Tyler Harvey, who registered his 10th consecutive game of 20 points or more. Sam Froling stuffed the stat sheet on his way to a 17-point, six rebounds, five assists and two block performance.
Lachie Dent was his diminutive best with 11 points, three rebounds and two assists and Mr consistency Deng Deng chimed in with 8 points and five boards.
Coach Jackomas has challenged the squad to finish the season on a high and to take some momentum and a winning mentality into the upcoming off-season. With the JackJumpers fighting for playoff positioning, the contest will be on from the tip in what is becoming an emerging rivalry between the two sides.
Keep a Hawk Eye On
It's all about #22 tomorrow night.
Tim Coenraad will suit up for the final time in front of Hawk Nation, and the faithful will be hoping for a vintage performance from the long-range specialist.
Through thick and thin, Coenraad has been a staple of the Hawks line-up for over a decade, and one final assault from three might lift the WIN Entertainment Centre's roof on Saturday evening.
You will know when Timmy C hits the floor, as few receptions are louder than the ones reserved for the former club MVP.
Not everyone gets the fairy-tale ending, but if one player deserves a win on his home floor to close a long and successful pro hoops chapter, Tim Coenraad might be the one.
Opposition Watch
The JackJumpers are locked in a battle for the final positions in this year’s playoffs, with Round 18 results to have them finishing as high as 3rd and as low as 7th.
Barring several major upsets, Tasmania should march on to a second consecutive finals campaign, an impressive result for a side in their second season.
Milton Doyle and Jack McVeigh lead the JackJumpers attack, but their team-first approach and ability to execute Coach Roth’s system have delivered their success.
Protect the Pit
It’s your last chance for NBL23 to "Protect the Pit."
Tip-off 5:30 pm – tickets from $30, and $70 for families, available through Ticketmaster now.
