This weekend of NBL1 brought many positives to the hardwood. Lachlan Olbrich and Deng Deng once again played a key role for their respective teams, while down in the Illawarra, the women's jagged another win while the men's went down valiantly with a reduced roster.
On Saturday night, Olbrich impressed with a highly efficient performance for the Bearcats against the Forestville Eagles. With a 100-54 belting, Olbrich shot at 83% with two-pointers and 60% from beyond the arch, along with two blocks.
Hawks' fans should be excited by these statistics, highlighting the offensive power Olbrich will bring to the Win Entertainment Centre in NBL24.

With a bye in round 8 for the West Adelaide Bearcats, you can catch Olbrich on Saturday, May 27, against Woodville Warriors Basketball as they look to continue their red-hot form.
Deng Deng continued his excellent form for Ipswich in a 111 to 102 win against Rip City Basketball. He collected another double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds, complimented by three assists and one steal.
Deng and the Ipswich Force will travel to Northside Indoor Sports Stadium to take on the Northside Wizards on Sunday, May 21.
With a reduced roster, the Illawarra Hawks were valiant on Saturday night against the Albury Wodonga Bandits, going down 86 to 93, with Frederick Webb and Noah Pagotto being standouts for Illawarra.
Webb scored 26 points and eight rebounds on an efficient 57% shooting, complimented by an assist and two steals, while Pagotto scored a team-high 31 points on 56% shooting, along with eight rebounds and a steal.
Earlier, the women's jagged a win in a tightly fought contest against Albury with a 78 to 72 victory, where scoring across the broader team was the difference.
Ella Dent was a standout, scoring a game-high 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a steal, while Emilia Garcia scored a double-double with three assists and a block.
The women's team will look to go back to back when the Comets visit the Snakepit on Saturday 27 with a 5:00 pm tip-off, while the men's game will precede with a 7:00 pm tip-off.
