The NBL1 North round 2 featured performances from Lachlan Dent, Akoldah Gak, Alex Mudronja, and Deng Deng on debut for the Ipswich Force.
The Ipswich Force scored their second win of the season on Saturday night knocking off the defending champion Gold Coast Rollers 108-88.
The Rollers were back home at Carrara Stadium and started well with 28 points to 22 in the opening quarter, but the Force soon took over. Over the next two quarters Ipswich outscored Gold Coast 63 points to 39 to end up winning by 20.
With four NBL23 players in their starting line-up, it was an impressive win from Ipswich with Kyrin Galloway ending up with 28 points, six rebounds and four blocks on 11/18 shooting.
Nathan Sobey delivered 26 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals on 6/12 three-point shooting with Deng Deng contributing 20 points and nine boards, and Jaylin Galloway 17 points and eight rebounds.
The Ipswich force return home on Sunday 16 April against the South West Metro Pirates, tipping off at 3pm AEST.
Gak and Mudronja’s Southern District Spartans went down to the Sunshine Coast Phoenix 86-73 in front of the home crowd on Saturday night, with the pair contributing a combined 28 points and 11 rebounds.
The Spartans will next face the Northside Wizards on Friday 14 April, tipping off at 8pm AEST.
Lachlan Dent’s Brisbane Capitals lost on the road against Rip City 99-87 on Sunday afternoon, with Dent dishing up 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Capitals will also play Friday 14 April against Cairns Marlins on the road, tipping off at 8:30pm AEST.
