NBL locks in new dates for Hawks' three postponed fixtures

The Illawarra Hawks will have an even busier January schedule than first expected after the NBL announced its updated fixture list on Friday.
Brian Goorjian's troops will return to the hardwood on Sunday, January 9 for their originally scheduled fixture against Melbourne United at the WIN Entertainment Centre from 1pm - which will kick-off the Hawks' Festival of Hoops.
Four days later, the Hawks will play the first of their postponed fixtures against the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
Previously slated on December 23, the two clubs will now face off for the first time in NBL22 on Thursday, January 13 at the WEC from 7.30pm.
This will be the first of three straight Thursday night games at the WEC for the Hawks in January.
The second will be against arch-rivals Sydney on January 20, which replaces the postponed New Year's Eve Adrian Hurley Cup showdown.
Our three consecutive Thursday games will be concluded on January 27 when the Hawks host the Cairns Taipans from 7.30pm at the WE - taking the place of the match from January 2.
These four matches will be part of the Hawks’ six-game January homestand, which also features battles with the Perth Wildcats on January 16 and South East Melbourne Phoenix on January 22.
Following these matches, Illawarra will return to Queensland to face the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday, January 29 at Nissan Arena.
