Introducing our NBL27 Indigenous Jersey

Modelled by Healthy Deadly Kids participants Navi and Tom.

This season’s design brings our players together with the thousands of Illawarra kids who have taken part in Healthy Deadly Kids over the years.

The work of Aunty Trish Levett

This season’s jersey design incorporates elements of Aunty Trish Levett’s artwork.

The same artwork features across Healthy Deadly Kids resources and coursework, so kids who have been through the program will recognise the design our players wear.

From the program to the court

Navi and Tom are two of the thousands of kids across the Illawarra who have taken part in Healthy Deadly Kids over the years.

The jersey draws a meaningful connection between everyone who has come through the program and our players as they take the court on November 19 during Indigenous Round.

It’s special to see elements of my artwork featured across the Healthy Deadly Kids program and now on the Illawarra Hawks Indigenous Jersey. The artwork has been part of the resources the students engage with, and seeing it carried onto the court creates a connection between the program and the players. It’s a great way to bring the students and the wider Illawarra community together through the game.
