Three.
Two.
One and just like that, the Illawarra Hawks' NBL22 season was officially launched with a bang on Wednesday.
During an excitement extravaganza, over 100 Hawks corporate partners and VIPs took part in an unparalleled behind the scenes experience on the WIN Entertainment Centre court.
It was a soft-shoes only affair as attendees swapped laptops for champagne flutes and were entertained with a full re-enactment of the new season hype reel, player introductions, interviews and more.
The event also featured exclusive chats with master coach Brian Goorjian, where he unveiled his thoughts on the season ahead and our exciting additions to the playing roster.
“This is year two of our project here and we’re super excited with the group we’ve been able to bring together - retaining key pieces while adding numerous others,” Goorjian said.
“We’ve made a strong start to the season on the road and are thoroughly looking forward to playing in front of our home fans on Friday and giving them a product they can be proud of.”
Captain AJ Ogilvy provided insights on what it means to lead the club during his seventh campaign with the club, while also revealing recruit Harry Froling was the most annoying teammate on road trips.
Import guard Tyler Harvey delved into why he signed a new three-year with the foundation club in the off-season, while Hawks legend how encouraged he was with the direction of the franchise.
Additionally, as a huge boost to the club, Alex Volkanovski was unveiled as a club ambassador and explained his lifelong support with the team and how excited he was to sit court side this season and watch the Hawks.
“As a club we seek to deliver unique experiences on and off the court, and by rolling the curtain back and holding our season launch on the floor of the WEC, we believe we have achieved this goal,” Hawks co-owner and president Dorry Kordahi said.
“The feedback we received was fantastic and we thank our partners for joining us for this memorable event.
“There is genuine excitement in the region about what our club is doing on and off the court, so we urge the community and corporate partners to join our journey as a corporate partner, member or fan.”
See first-hand how much excitement was had here.
The club is finalising its preparations for Friday's season opener with the New Zealand Breakers at the WIN Entertainment Centre - with seats available via Ticketmaster.
