Justin Tatum's men continue to believe that anything is possible in NBL24 and enter Sunday's game fresh off a Christmas Day victory over the Sydney Kings.
A bumper crowd is expected to descend on WIN Entertainment Centre as the city rallies around the resurgent Hawks, who have won four of their last six games.
The Hawks put a slow start to the Kings match up behind them to storm home and record their best win of the past 18 months.
Rookie big Lachie Olbrich showed out with the best game of his young pro career and was a difference-maker on the glass and defensively in key moments of the second half.
With Olbrich bringing the energy off the bench, Tyler Harvey and Hyunjung Lee lighting it up from the perimeter, and Sam Froling and Gary Clark doing Sam Froling and Gary Clark things, the squad continue to show that the new-look Hawks are here to stay.
In the two team's only meeting to date, the Hawks led throughout the first three quarters before Next Star Trenton Flowers fuelled a 36ers comeback to run out upset victors.
The New Year's Eve game is a tradition here in the 'Gong, and the Hawks will be out to give the fans a reason to kick off their celebrations in style with a home win.
Opposition Watch
The 36ers are a side searching for consistency and enter the round last on the NBL standings.
Interim Coach Scott Ninnis proclaimed his side can no longer accept mediocrity, and the Hawks will be wary of a group that has been publicly challenged in recent days.
Shooting guard DJ Vasiljevic and big man Issac Humphries have been two of the better performers for Adelaide, and Jacob Wiley's matchup with Hawks star Gary Clark will be one to watch.
36ers fans will hope that the turn of a new year brings a change of luck and results, with Justin Tatum's men out to ensure the tough run of form continues for at least another week.
