Illawarra Hawks new recruit George King arrived in Australia on Monday to start pre-season training ahead of the NBL23 season.
King, who signed with the Hawks in August, met his new teammates and is excited to be playing in Australia.
“Australia was a place I always said I wanted to visit, not only do I get to visit but I also get to play basketball here, so I get the best of both worlds,” King said.
The American Forward has spent time in the NBA and Europe and is eager to now be playing in the NBL.
“I was watching it from a far and thought it would be a pretty cool place to play, and when I had an opportunity to play here, it was easy for me to come here.”
“I can’t wait to play; I’ve heard good things about the league. It’s fast paced, much like the NBA, I think that’s what I’m most excited about,” King said.
