The Hawks are taking the NBL23 Heritage round back to where it all began, donning a uniform that pays tribute to the first Hawks program of 1979.
For the only remaining foundation club in the competition, celebrating our heritage and history is a part of our DNA.
This season's heritage strip is inspired by the on and off-court designs of our 1979 side.
The royal blue singlets and shorts were the uniform of choice for the club in our inaugural season, with the yellow reflected in the warm-up tops worn by the playing group.
Fans will need to look twice when they hit WIN Entertainment Centre on Saturday evening with the Bullets donning a red and white uniform, also from the 1979 season.
The red and white colour scheme was also initially the Brisbane Amateur Basketball Association colours based on the Brisbane floral emblem, the red poinsettia.
Hawks royalty will be in the building for the Round 16 match-up, with inaugural coach Joe Farrugia taking in the action from courtside.
Farrugia attended the Hawk's main training session earlier in the week to share his thoughts with the current head coach, Jacob Jackomas.
Farrugia led a team highlighted by star players, including Gordie McLeod, Jim Slacke, and Ted Holcolm. The 1979 Hawks finished 8th with a 5-13 record, missing the then top 4 playoff tournament.
The Hawks Heritage Round jerseys are available now via the online store or at the Hawks Merchandise outlet at WIN Entertainment Centre on game night.
