The first recipients of the Titanium Traffic Management Hawks Hero Award were Lachlan Stevens and Daniel Chin from His Boy Elroy for their effort in creating The Barstool Brothers.
Many Illawarra locals know them for their mouth-watering burgers, but there is more to these boys than beef and beer.
Formed in 2019 out of His Boy Elroy, The Barstool Brothers was born with the intentions of creating a welcoming environment for men to gather and build connections, friendships and support networks.
These connections are strengthened through free events throughout each month. Most recently, thanks to an anonymous donation, The Barstool Brothers and His Boy Elroy worked together to open their doors on Christmas Day and provide free burgers to anyone spending the holiday alone.

Toxic masculinity beliefs and the stigma associated with men’s mental health often prevent men from seeking out help.
When men are "shoulder to shoulder" with a mate they are more likely to open up. The Barstool Brothers utilise His Boy Elroy’s bar and its casual environment to facilitate the establishment of these dialogues.
In 2023, via their educational initiative, The Barstool Project, they intend on training around 30,000 NSW hospitality staff in a Mental Health awareness and communication course, free of charge to all participants.
For more information on how you can get behind the boys and support men’s mental health, please head to their social media pages: @his_boy_elroy & @the_barstoolbrothers.
