The Hawks are thrilled to welcome Pepper Money as Principal Partner of the Club for the NBL 2020-21 season.
Pepper Money has been established in Australia for the past 20 years with a focus on community engagement and support for investment and local growth, making them a great Principal Partner for The Hawks.
“This is a major announcement for The Hawks and a huge show of confidence from a well established and industry leading brand. It is one of the biggest investment in the club’s history and another indication of how the narrative is changing around this franchise,” Hawks Co-Owner and President Dorry Kordahi said.
“Pepper Money is demonstrating great faith in us and the direction we are taking the Club. We are excited to partner with them and build great synergies between our two organisations,” Kordahi said.
Pepper Money was attracted to the Hawks as the parallels between what the club is seeking to achieve and Pepper’s corporate mission - To Help You Succeed - are so similar. As one of Australia’s leading non-bank lenders, Pepper Money offers a variety of flexible home loan solutions, including some the banks won’t.
They also provide car loans, personal loans, loans for professional equipment, and commercial loans; and its personal based approach to finance has seen Pepper Money awarded Best Specialist Lender for the past four years.
Pepper Money’s Australian and New Zealand CEO, Mario Rehayem, said the company is also trying to boost awareness of its brand amongst basketball fans in the Illawarra region and around Australia.
“At Pepper Money, we look to fund our customer’s real-life dreams and goals. We see similarities with our partnership with the Hawks. We wanted to join in as the Hawk’s rebuild their franchise and reclaim success in the league. This partnership ensures our brand is seen by a wider audience of sporting fans in Illawarra and across Australia,” Rehayem said.
In line with Pepper Money's aspiration to include a strong element of community support in their sporting sponsorships, part of the financial commitment will go towards the establishment of a Hawks local business community program.
Pepper Money will take pride of place on the front of jersey for the Hawks NBL 2020-21 season.
Pepper Money and the Hawks will be fired up to take the court in early 2021, with The Hawks opening their season against the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday 16 January.
