NBL unveils Hawks' Indigenous round fixtures

The month of March looms as a pivotal one for the Illawarra Hawks, with their first three scheduled games being on the road. With Tuesday, March 1 against the Breakers in Hobart already locked in, the NBL announced on Friday the Hawks would also play South East Melbourne Phoenix and the Tasmania JackJumpers through the first part of March - which will mark the league's NBL22 Indigenous rounds.
The month of March looms as a pivotal one for the Illawarra Hawks, with their first three scheduled games being on the road.
With Tuesday, March 1 against the Breakers in Hobart already locked in, the NBL announced on Friday the Hawks would also play South East Melbourne Phoenix and the Tasmania JackJumpers through the first part of March - which will mark the league's NBL22 Indigenous rounds.
The former will be the Hawks' only match of round 14, when they travel to John Cain Arena for the first time this campaign, to take on the Phoenix from 5.30pm AEDT on Sunday, March 6.
One week later, Brian Goorjian's troops will return to Tasmania for their first-ever game against the JackJumpers on their home court - MyState Bank Arena.
This round 15 showdown against the NBL's new boys will tip-off on Sunday, March 13 from 1pm.

"While it's exciting to see the latest updated schedule from the NBL, as an organisation, we're not looking that far down the road just yet," Hawks coach Brian Goorjian said.
"Having dropped a couple of games at home, our main focus right now is taking care of business during the month of February, before we hit the road next month.
"If we're desperate and dig in to keep our season alive over the next three weeks, it'll put us in a strong position to make some noise on March."
As the Hawks have no matches during the NBL's designated two Indigenous rounds, it is expected they'll play their home fixture the following week - with schedule confirmation expected in the coming weeks.
