Co-captain and NBL champion Sam Froling is staying in the ‘Gong, signing a new three-year deal with the Illawarra Hawks!
Since joining the Hawks in 2019, Froling has won the hearts of the Illawarra community, becoming one of their own through his consistent performances on the court and his approachable, genuine connection with fans off it.
"I'm thrilled to have officially re-signed with the Hawks. Wollongong has quickly felt like home since I arrived — I love both the community and the club, and I'm excited to continue calling it home for another three years." Shared Sam.
He added, "I'm really grateful to the club for the opportunities they've given me so far in my career, and for the support they're showing during my current rehabilitation. I can't wait to get back out on the court in red and black as soon as possible.”
Mat Campbell, General Manager of Basketball, shared: “We’re thrilled to have Frols re-signed. His leadership, both on and off the court, has played a crucial role in our recent success, and we’re eager to see him back on the floor, fit and healthy.
This off-season, Froling will continue his rehabilitation in the Illawarra, working closely with the Hawks' high-performance staff as he strives to get back on the court as soon as possible!
