Reflecting on the successful afternoon at Wollongong Central, Illawarra Hawks CEO Stu Taggart said “It was great to see so many Hawks Members & Fans come along to our Christmas Meet & Greet at Wollongong Central – Our members and fans are the heartbeat of the Club and it was awesome for our players and staff to get an opportunity to share in the spirit of Christmas together with them.”

Co-Captain Sam Froling found himself surrounded by excited fans on that day. "It is super important for us to repay the community and show support with these events, as the fans continuously come week in, week out to our games and support us. Getting the chance to talk and hang out with people who come to every game and wear our jerseys is super special, and something the team and I love to do. It’s a special thing to be apart of this Hawks community, and we love every chance we get to give back to those who give so much to us."

Head Coach Justin Tatum had his fair share of autographs and photographs "Yesterday was important for us because we wanted to meet the fans who support us faithfully day in and day out. Seeing the joy we bring on kids and family faces when they get a chance to meet the coaches and players who they support. It’s definitely helps the Hawks and the Illawarra Community maintain a strong relationship. I’m happy to be apart of it."
