This first-ever event saw our region’s best basketball players and our most talented wheelchair basketball players play off against each other across three wheelchair exhibition matches.
The fun-filled day included activities for all the family, and an opportunity to get up close and personal with the players, including a post-match meet and greet with players from both teams.
The Disability Trust’s Jammers tipped off proceedings with an opening match including some of their program participants. The program started over 20 years ago and was one of the first programs established by The Disability Trust in the Illawarra.
Half-time entertainment was provided by the KidsRock band, with the crowd rocking out to some of the classics including AC/DC and Jon Bon Jovi.
The 7-time National Wheelchair Basketball Champions dominated the court on the day, winning the Hawks v Roller Hawks match 23-11.
Make sure you catch the Roller Hawks in action at the Wheelchair Basketball Illawarra Festival from November 8 to 12 at the Illawarra Sports Stadium. Masters, 3X3 and 5 on 5 across five action packed days. Follow the Roller Hawks on Facebook to stay up to date.
The KidsWish Charity Match had over 300 supporters through the doors, with lucky Hawks fans seeing the full NBL24 squad for the first time.
Funds raised from the event go towards supporting KidsWish programs and events that are provided for children of the Illawarra living with disability or illness.

Thank you again to all those that attended to support the Hawks, Roller Hawks and KidsWish.
